My NEW Online Writing Group
Thursday evening sessions…
I’m excited to announce that I’m starting an online writing group for my Substack paid subscribers. I’d love you to be a part of it.
Sessions will run weekly on Thursdays, 7.30–8.30pm UK time (BST) on Zoom.
What can you work on?
Each session is yours to use however you need. You might choose to:
1. Follow a creative writing prompt – suitable for fiction and non-fiction prose writers of any experience level
2. Work on your own project – novels, short stories, memoirs, poetry, or whatever else you’re currently writing
3. Redraft, edit, and polish a work-in-progress
4. Tackle the business side of writing – things like responding to emails, querying agents, writing synopses, building your newsletter or social media presence, or cover design
5. Simply show up – if you’d like some quiet company while you go about your day’s tasks, you are very welcome.
Session outline
After a brief introduction, everyone chooses their goal for the hour and gets to work. In the final few minutes, we’ll check in to share what we’ve achieved. If you’ve used the prompt or completed a short piece, we’d love you to read it aloud or post it in the chat, but there’s no pressure.
Membership
For £3.50 per month or £35 per year, you’ll receive, in addition to my free fortnightly posts:
Access to the weekly Thursday writing sessions on Zoom
My monthly paid newsletter.
If you’d like to support me further, there is also a Buy Me a Coffee option – but only ever if you’re able to, and it’s always appreciated rather than expected.
Sign up below and you’ll receive the writing group email reminders and Zoom link.
I look forward to seeing you!

The structure of this is really thoughtful, particularly the option to just show up for quiet company. A lot of writers find accountability groups valuable but feel pressured to produce something every session, and giving people permission to simply be present while working on anything at all is a generous approach. The Thursday timing and the hour length feel well judged too.
Hi Hannah, think this a good idea but did not receive this in time. I will try to subscribe to join. Or if I still have your details transfer the money.
